Known simply as ‘maekake’ in Japan (which translates into ‘hanging in front’), these waisted apron have been the traditional aprons of Japanese craftsmen for over 200 years. Made from a cotton blend and woven on vintage shuttle looms, each apron is made from dense and durable canvas that is hand-sewn and hand indigo-dyed by craftspeople using century old techniques. Design features of this traditional apron include the fringed bottom, densely woven waistband and handy side pockets. Unisex and one size fits most.
