The shape and style of Asahi’s Deck Shoes follows classic deck shoe designs of years past. The siping sole bottom gives superior grip on wet surfaces, since deck shoes were originally meant to keep you planted on the slippery decks of ships back in the day. In addition to the grippy foundation – the lightweight, minimalist cotton canvas upper, cotton laces, tonal eyelets, and vulcanized rubber seal are all the trademarks of Asahi’s commitment to quality and allow for the materials and subtle design details to shine through.
Measurements:
Asahi shoes tend to run large, and many customers choose a half size or one size smaller than normal. Please email [email protected] for any sizing inquiries.

History:
Upper – Canvas
Sole – Vulcanized rubber
Variation:
Shoe size tends to run 1 size big for women’s and can be slightly bigger than true to size for men. Due to their almost entirely handmade nature, there may be slight variation in the rubber and canvas.
Care Instructions:
Do not machine wash. Spot clean and hand-wash only.
To clean, rinse shoes with warm water, inside and out, and gently brush away stains with a mixture of water and detergent. Rinse with cool, clean water. Air dry shoes in a shady spot and stuff shoes with paper towels to absorb excess moisture and retain the shape. Direct heat on canvas can cause the canvas to break down or become brittle.
